Direct answer. The GW22 (and dual-band GW22-D) is a DIN-rail/wall-mounted industrial wireless gateway hub designed to aggregate up to 1,000 VTI-TS sensors across substations and switchgear rooms. Operating as a passive, receive-only listening hub, it introduces zero radio frequency interference to existing protection relays or communication lines.

It supports open standard utility protocols: Modbus TCP, MQTT over TLS, and IEC 60870-5-104 for direct integration into SCADA/DMS and asset-health platforms. Native IEC 61850 is currently on the development roadmap.

Key Highlights

1,000 Sensors

High Density Aggregation

A single gateway handles up to 1,000 temperature sensors across multiple switchgear lineups or an entire outdoor substation bay.

Dual-Band

BLE 2.4 GHz + LoRa

GW22-D receives short-range high-density BLE signals from indoor switchgear and long-range LoRa signals (up to 3 km) from outdoor switchyards simultaneously.

Open SCADA

Utility Protocols

Transmits point temperature, phase-to-phase ΔT, and alarms over Modbus TCP, MQTT over TLS, and IEC 60870-5-104. No proprietary cloud lock-in.

Receive-Only

Zero EMI / RF Hazard

Passive listening architecture ensures the gateway never transmits high-power RF that could interfere with sensitive numerical protection relays.

220 V AC/DC

Substation Auxiliary Supply

Wide-range power supply connects directly to substation station battery banks (110–220 V DC) or standard AC auxiliary distribution boards.

DIN-Rail Mount

Compact Form Factor

Dimensions of 93 × 84 × 24 mm and 200 g weight allow installation on standard 35 mm DIN rails inside low-voltage switchgear instrument compartments.
